Not Getting the Activation Code
It’s something that has happened to many users. You get a new phone, and the first app you download is WhatsApp. But once you have the app installed and have introduced your phone number, the activation code is taking forever to arrive. The reason you might not be getting the verification code is because you may have typed in the phone number wrong. You were possibly so excited that you repeated your country’s code that is automatically included. The best thing you can do is repeat the process and double check that all the numbers are correct. It’s also crucial that we make sure that the number we are adding doesn’t already have a WhatsApp account. The app will usually close one of the accounts, so we are only able to use the service on one device. That could be the reason why you are not getting the verification code.
My Contacts Are Not Being Recognized
WhatsApp will automatically save our contacts if and only when they are already in our device. If there is a particular contact that is not appearing, follow the below advice:
Make sure your friend is a WhatsApp user. Check to see if you have added the contact and that if your friend lives in another country, you have the number saved in full international format. Double check to see if you have given WhatsApp access to your phone’s contacts in permissions or security settings. Make sure that the contacts are set to viewable or visible in your device’s phone book. If that still doesn’t work, try setting it to not visible and then back to visible so it can refresh. Remember to refresh the contact list.
WhatsApp Won’t Connect
Let’s start with the basics. Have you checked if you’re connected to the Internet? Try browsing the Web on your phone’s browser. That will help you know if it’s a lack of Internet connection that is keeping you from using WhatsApp. If you can open web pages and other Internet-dependent apps but WhatsApp still won’t open, try the following tips:
Reboot your phone Make sure you have the latest WhatsApp version Turn Airplane mode on and off Make sure background data is not checked Refresh your Wi-Fi If all else fails, you can try deleting and reinstalling the app. This is going to erase your chat history, so if you want to save this, make sure you back everything up first Upgrade your Android device to the latest version
I Can’t Send or Receive Pictures on WhatsApp
Another problem many WhatsApp users have complained about is not being able to send or even receive pictures while on WhatsApp. If this is happening to you, try switching from WiFi to mobile data to see if that fixes everything, but if not you can also try going to “Settings -> Apps” or “Application manager -> clear data” on any app that uses a large amount of data. Don’t forget to restart your phone. If you can’t download, send or receive media files on WhatsApp, the problem could also lie in your SD card. The problem could be that you don’t have enough memory, your SD card is set to read-only mode or the SD card is corrupted.
The Messages Don’t Immediately Arrive
Have you noticed that your friends take too long to answer? It may not be that there ignoring your messages; it could be that they are just getting your messages late. Why? If you are using a task killer, this could be the reason why your messages are not arriving when they should. WhatsApp doesn’t respond well to task killers, so if you notice that your messages are late, try not closing WhatsApp with a task killer. Othe raise there could be a delay in WhatsApp’s server. For this, there is nothing you can do about it.
